Baguio City has a lot of tourist spots to offer, and it is well-known as the Summer Capital of the Philippines due to its cold weather throughout the year. It’s also called a city of pines because the place has a lot of pine trees.

Baguio City has been undeniably one of the most popular and visited destinations in the country to escape the summer heat and enjoy the chilly weather.

Needless to say, the place also offers an enticing scenic view of mountain ranges of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), parks, and flower gardens. Here’s the list of must-visit Baguio City Tourist Spots you need to check during your vacation in the city. This list includes guides on how to get there.

1. Burnham Park

Named after Daniel Hudson Burnham, an American architect and urban planner who designed the plan for Baguio city in 1900.

Burnham Park is one of the most visited in Baguio city tourist spots since it is located at the heart of the city. There is no entrance fee. But, if you want to have some fun, you need to pay for the activities or rides that are available in this place.

2. La Trinidad Strawberry Farm

How to get to La Trinidad Strawberry Farm:

For commuters, ride a jeepney bound to Buyagan or La Trinidad. Jeepneys can be found right beside the Center Mall, just across Baguio City Public Market. The estimated fare cost is more or less 14 pesos.

There is no entrance fee when you get there, but you have to enjoy strawberry picking you have to pay for it. Just ask the farmer or the person who is in charge of the farm.

It was an off-peak season when we got there, so the price of a half kilo was at 350 pesos.

3. Mines View Park

Mines View Park

One of the Baguio city tourist spots you need to visit is the Mines View Park which is situated on the north-eastern outskirts of Baguio City.

You may spend time by means of seeing the stunning mountain ridges and old abandoned mining areas in Itogon.

It is best to visit the area early in the morning before sunrise, and it would really be a beautiful scenery if there is a sea of clouds covering the town below.

How to get to Mines View Park:

The easiest way to get there is by taking a Taxi/Grab.

You can also ride a jeepney that has ”Mines View” signage. You can also directly go to Jeepney terminal which is near to a bakery just across Burnham Park.

Things to do in Mines View:

– Wearing traditional clothes/costumes.
– Picture-taking with the Horses or with the St. Bernard’s dog.
– Buying foods at the Streetfood fest
– Buying souvenirs at the stalls

4. Baguio Botanical Garden

Baguio Botanical Garden is one of the prime pieces of property that is owned by the Government.

It is being called in different names. It was once called Botanical and Zoological Garden. Some also named it Igorot Village due to the huts and statues that are placed in the park.

How to get to Baguio Botanical Garden

By public transport:
From the city proper, there are lots of jeepney lines that pass to Leonard Wood Road. So take a jeepney which goes to Mines View, Pacdal, Beckel, Country Club, Navy Base, Tuding, Itogon and tell the driver to drop you off at Botanical Garden.

By private transport:
You can use Google or Waze to locate the area. It is situated in Leonard Wood Road and in between Teachers Camp and Wright Park.

– Picture taking with the native people (20 pesos fee for the native costume)
– Walk into the Japanese tunnel

5. The Mansion

Formerly called The Mansion House and is the summer residence of the President of the Philippines.

The Mansion is one of the most visited landmarks in Baguio City which is located right across from the Wright Park. Visitors are not allowed to roam around the place for security reasons.

How to get to The Mansion

From the Mines View Park, take a jeepney just beside the entrance and ask the driver to drop you off at The Mansion.

If you are from the Central Business District, you can also ride a jeepney line with a Plaza-Mines View route.

– Pictorial at the famous ”The Mansion Gate” which is said to be a replica of the Buckingham Palace in London, England.

6. Wright Park

Wright Park is the perfect place to visit after The Mansion which is just across the street.

How to get to Wright Park

If you are from The Mansion, you just have to cross the street and it is already the place.

Take a jeepney line with Plaza-Mines View route and tell the driver to drop you off at the Wright Park. The minimum fare at Mines View is 8.50 php.

7. Baguio Cathedral (Our Lady of Atonement Cathedral)

Baguio Cathedral or also known as Our Lady of Atonement Cathedral is located in the center of the busy city.

The church served as an evacuation center for the Japanese during World War II.

How to get to Baguio Cathedral

From Session Road, walk to Fr. Carlu Street and on the left side, you can now see Baguio Cathedral.

From SM Baguio, walk down to Baguio Post office then just walk straight on that road and you will see the Cathedral.

8. Night Market

The Harrison Plaza turns out to be a busy street starting at 9 o’clock in the evening. Since the place is known for Night Market, a lot of people gather to buy and sell items at an affordable price.
The said place has gained popularity because of its Ukay-Ukay Shopping Center, and various street foods can also be seen in the same area.
